FEBRUARY 11 THROUGH FEBRUARY 15, 2010
MEXICO MISSION TRIP


First Christian Church Scottsdale has begun planning for our annual Mexican house building mission trip February 11-15, 2010. During this mission trip our church members will travel to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico and construct a home for a Mexican family utilizing only hand tools – no power tools allowed. Please see the photo display of last year’s trip in the courtyard after Sunday service.

Below is a breakdown of some of the major expenses. We will have a sign-up sheet in the courtyard for you who wish to contribute to this mission if you are unable to make the trip. Sign-up sheets for food item donations will be also be available. Amor Ministries arranges for all the building materials to be on site. Our church pays for them and we provide the tools, expertise and labor for constructing the home on the Mexican family’s lot.

Over the last number of years a group of people connected to First Christian Church Scottsdale has gone down to Rocky Point, Mexico to build a simple yet solid house for a family in extreme need of adequate shelter.

Over those same years other ministries have developed as well. Some have helped with a local orphanage. Others have helped with other groups building houses for other families in need. Still others have given further assistance to families we built homes for in previous years.

The dates of Thursday February 11th through Monday February 15th 2010 have been reserved for the 2010 version of the trip. These dates encompass our tradition of taking the mission trip over Presidents' Day weekend.
